This learning pathway prepares front-line provider, family caregivers, community health workers, direct care workers, DSPs, respite workers, and community-based care teams to support older adults and individuals experiencing cognitive changes in home and community settings. Courses focus on dementia-capable care, brain health, communication, safety, family caregiver support, behavior changes, wandering risk, social connection, respite readiness, resource navigation, documentation, and timely escalation when concerns arise.
A 2-hour virtual scenario-based course designed to help providers recognize possible signs of elder or dependent adult abuse, neglect, abandonment, self-neglect, and financial exploitation while staying within appropriate caregiver role boundaries.
Providers will learn to identify red flags, respond safely and respectfully, document objective observations, and know when and how to report concerns or ask for help. The course emphasizes dignity, psychological safety, culturally responsive awareness, caregiver support, practical communication, and local reporting pathways.
Learners will leave with job-ready tools, confidence-building strategies, and clear next steps they can apply in real caregiving situations.
