Healthcare Testimonials: What Our Partners Are Saying

Human Factors Testing

This study investigated human factors testing related to bleeding control during surgery. Simulated patients experienced realistic bleeding scenarios to compare the effectiveness of Fibrocaps and gelatin sponges in a surgical setting. The primary aims were to demonstrate Fibrocaps' superior ability to control bleeding compared to gelatin sponges and to gather safety data relevant to future FDA approval processes for clinical trials, which may also influence sepsis management guidelines.

"Thank you so much for making our Human Factors study such a success. You and your team did an amazing job taking care of all our study needs and ensuring everything went smoothly. We had a lovely experience working with all of you and would highly recommend you to others. We especially appreciated your effort in filling the time slots, even with last-minute drop-outs. Your commitment to team training for quality improvement truly stood out. We will be sure to share with you the top line results when we receive them in the few weeks. Thanks again!"

Boosting Adherence to Sepsis Management Guidelines

To enhance emergency department (ED) staff's utilization of the electronic health record (EHR) tool for effective sepsis management, we assembled a team of healthcare professionals from various disciplines. This team provided training and feedback on the tool's proper use, following sepsis management guidelines. As a result, EHR tool utilization rose from a baseline of 23.3% before the intervention to 87.2% after the training session focused on team training for quality improvement.

“It was an honor to watch your team in action in the ED at Swedish Medical Center - Issaquah Campus this morning. I appreciated the opportunity to see a different kind of training, and to witness the obvious benefit. You are exceptional educators! Thanks to you for arranging.”

“The debrief we had after the training generated great discussion between staff and led to some fantastic ideas. Thank you for helping us make this educational opportunity even better.”

Team Training for Quality Improvement

This project examined the impact of a multidisciplinary team training program aimed at improving clinical outcomes for postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) caused by uterine atony. Over 300 healthcare providers from nursing, obstetrics, and anesthesia participated in 22 simulated PPH scenarios, which not only focused on individual skills in managing PPH but also emphasized teamwork and communication among different disciplines, critical elements highlighted in human factors testing. This approach contributes to the overall effectiveness of team training for quality improvement in handling emergency situations.

Dr. Jane Uhlir, Executive Director of Woman and Children Services at Swedish Medical Center – First Hill Campus, shared, "Thank you for all the time and effort in delivering our training today. I never worry about the quality of the work you produce, your dedication, or your intentions to enhance our patients' lives. For these reasons and more, you are my favorite team, and training is always the work that brings a smile to my face. Thank you."
