Identify common infection risks present in home and community-based caregiving environments. 3. Use the Pause-Scan-Protect-Proceed method to assess risk before, during, and after care tasks. 4. Demonstrate decision-making for hand hygiene, gloves, masks, eye protection, protective clothing, and cleaning supplies. 5. Apply safe practices related to body fluids, toileting, wound drainage, respiratory symptoms, laundry, trash management, and contaminated surfaces. 6. Communicate respectfully when faced with challenges in infection prevention due to consumers, family members, or supply limitations. 7. Describe appropriate actions to take after potential exposure to blood, body fluids, respiratory secretions, or contaminated sharps. 8. Identify at least two situations that necessitate supervisor, nurse/care-manager, healthcare provider, or emergency escalation. 9. Develop a realistic personal infection prevention action plan. 10. Increase confidence in applying infection control practices in everyday caregiving tasks.
