The Ready at Home Program is a 2-hour scenario-based training designed to equip providers with essential skills in emergency preparedness training and to enhance climate resilience training. This program helps learners recognize emergency and climate-related risks, support client-centered preparedness planning, respond safely during common emergencies, and communicate concerns effectively. Participants will practice applying emergency readiness skills through realistic home-based care scenarios and will leave with practical tools they can implement immediately with clients. Tailored for organizations seeking scalable, facilitator-ready education, the course integrates practical tools, guided application, and client-specific localization. Identify common emergency and climate-related risks that may affect clients receiving in-home support as part of the Ready at Home Program. 2. Explain why older adults, people with disabilities, and individuals with chronic conditions may experience greater risk during emergencies. 3. Conduct a basic home-based emergency readiness scan to enhance climate resilience training. 4. Support a client-centered emergency plan that includes medications, equipment, communication, evacuation, sheltering, and backup care. 5. Recognize early warning signs of heat-related illness, power outage risk, wildfire smoke exposure, flooding risk, and unsafe home conditions. 6. Use clear communication and escalation steps during an emergency. 7. Apply preparedness actions through realistic in-home care scenarios. 8. Create a personal confidence-building action plan for use with clients.
